Ilchester Surgery opening times are now: Monday to Friday 9 am - 4 pm.  Ilchester registered patients are also able to access new services at Buttercross Health Centre in Somerton. Find out more information on our latest news page.

Please note, the surgery currently closes between 1 and 2 pm daily for staff training and essential administration.

At Ilchester Surgery each patient has their own named GP. You can however see any doctor of your choice. Please contact the surgery if you do not know who your named doctor is and our reception staff will be pleased to advise you.

Attached Services

There is a full complement of staff attached to the surgery. These include a Community Midwife, District Nurses, Health Visitor, Nursery Nurse, a Dietitian and a Counsellor. If you wish to contact any of these staff please ask one of our Receptionists.

District Nursing Staff

The district nurses provide general nursing care for housebound patients.

Health Visitor/baby Clinic

You can contact the Health Visitor on the surgery number or 01935-841751. If you have problems with a baby or a young child then the Health Visitor would be the first person to contact for advice on, eating problems, behavioural problems, concerns about growth etc.

The Baby Clinic takes place at The Little Marsh Children’s Centre near the Ilchester Infant School.  See the handbook or ask reception for details.

Children will only be given a vaccination/immunisation if brought to the surgery by a PARENT. If this is a problem, please discuss this with Lin the Practice Nurse or one of the Reception Staff.
