New Computer System
From Friday 3rd August there will be some IT works to install a new computer system at Buttercross Health Centre. We will still be open and you will be able to access our services.
Online services will be affected from Friday 3rd August at 1pm. Unfortunately due to the new computer system being installed anyone using online access will need to re-register from this date. It will look exactly the same as the system you are using now. We apologise for this inconvenience.
Important changes to services across Ilchester Surgery and Buttercross Health centre...
PATIENT INFORMATION UPDATE - From 2 July 2018
We have written to all our patients recently to explain important changes to the ways that healthcare services will be offered between Ilchester Surgery and Buttercross Health Centre.
Ilchester Surgery will become a branch surgery of Buttercross Health Centre, with the practice lists being merged into a single list and all patients will be registered at Buttercross Health Centre. This will happen automatically; patients are not required to take any action.
From 2 July, the revised opening hours for Ilchester Surgery will be:
|Monday ||9 am - 4 pm (no lunchtime closure)|
|Wednesday||9 am - 4 pm (no lunchtime closure)|
|Friday||9 am - 1 pm|
On the days when Ilchester Surgery is closed, a full range of healthcare services will continue to run from Buttercross Health Centre for all patients. If you need medical advice or treatment please call the main appointment line: 01458 272473
Opening hours at Buttercross Health Centre will continue to be:
Monday - Friday between 8.00 am and 6.30 pm (6.30 - 7.30 pm pre-bookable appointments only)
From 2 July, we will also be introducing a range of new services...
- A new appointment line
- A daily telephone triage service for immediate medial advice,
- Regular, specialist support clinics for chronic diseases
- A new pharmacy team will be based in the practice to support all patients with medication and prescription queries more quickly.
- In August we hope to be installing a brand new phone system, which will make it much easier for patients to get through on the phone.

During May, we ran a number of information and engagement events, for patients and their families to meet the team and share any ideas or concerns about the changes.

NEW Joint Website
If you are used to using the www.ilchestersurgery.co.uk address and you have found yourself on the Buttercross website - don't worry you have arrived on the correct page! Since joining services together between the two practices, our patient group suggested we combine the websites together. We have merged the sites together to help make it easier to find the information you need and to avoid lots of duplication.
