Community Midwives

Tel: 01935 384449 or when in labour 01935 384350 (Yeovil Hospital) or 01823 343059 (Taunton Hospital). The surgery is supported by a team of midwives, who care for patients during pregnancy and in the post natal period. A leaflet describing antenatal services and the care available can be obtained by ringing the midwifery team.

Community Nurses

A team of community nurses, based in Langport Surgery and shared between a number of practices, support the surgery to offer holistic care, education and support to people living in the community. They provide a professional healthcare service, mainly within the home environment but also deliver care within the context of nurse-led initiatives. The service operates from Monday to Friday between 0900 to 1700 Hrs. Please ask for more details of the services they provide and the criteria for admission to the District Nursing Team care list. Health Visitors

A Community Health Visiting Team supports the surgery. They can provide advice and support on a range of issues including breastfeeding, managing addiction (e.g. drug and/or alcohol abuse), mental health, post-natal depression, domestic abuse and child health promotion.

A well baby clinic is held twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Thursday between 09.30 - 11.00 hrs at the Methodist Church Hall, West Street in Somerton.

In Ilchester it is held at 09.30 t- 11.00 hrs on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at Little Marsh Children's centre.
