Home Visits - Tel: 01458 272473

Doctor's bagPlease request a home visit whenever possible before midday

The doctors will only visit patients who are too ill or disabled to leave home. You may be triaged by a health care professional to determine whether or not a home visit is the preferred option. Most consultations are best done in the Health Centre.

Please note that a lack of transport does not, itself, constitute a justification for a home visit. It is an individual patient's responsibility to make suitable transportation arrangements.

Please ask yourself if a home visit really is necessary before you request a visit using the link below or ring the above number.

askmyGP - An exciting new system to support patients. From Thursday 30 January 2020, Buttercross Health Centre and Ilchester Surgery will be using askmyGP to manage all patient requests. Using askmyGP will ensure equity between patients by allowing the GPs to assess each request and then decide on the most appropriate way to resolve the issue. This could be by telephone, face to face or via online messaging. Although we will encourage patients to submit their requests online, please feel assured that you can still submit a request by phone or in person when you attend the surgery. We are confident that askmyGP will provide everyone with better access to the surgery and ensure quality care is provided to all. For more information regarding askmyGP see
